As you know, Media Democracy Days Vancouver has grown to cover three days of film screenings, speaker’s panels, discussions, and workshops to bridge citizens, artists, activists, scholars, policy-makers, journalists, and community leaders in the ongoing conversation of the state of Canadian Media. For our tenth anniversary, please join us:

Friday November 11th from 6:30-10:00pm at the Pacific Cinematheque for a screening of War Made Easy and keynote talk from Dr. Sut Jhally, founder of the Media Education Foundation.

Saturday November 12th from 12-5:00pm at the Vancouver Public Library, Central Library for a keynote talk from Judy Rebick, founder of Rabble.ca; seven discussion panels throughout the day; a media fair of +30 media organizations on display; +much more. Then walk to the W2 Media Cafe for a reception + party from 5-10:00pm.

On Sunday November 13th, get a chance to participate in media production workshops + dialogue titled Mapping Media Democracy: A Launchpad for Action from 12-4:00pm at SFU Woodwards. To round out the weekend, join us Media Democracy for Mental Health at Gallery Gachet for music and laughs from 6-10pm.

HOT TIPS:
> At the Central Library, access to wireless Internet is limited to those with a library card. If you’d like to be online throughout the day, but do not yet have a library card, we recommend arriving early and registering for one.

> If you’ve registered for a workshop on Sunday, please be sure to attend. These sessions have very limited space, and if you can’t make use of your seat, we’d love to give it to another participant. (http://mddworkshops.eventbrite.com/)
> Arriving early at all venues and events is a good idea! Space goes quickly and we’re expecting most of these sessions to fill up.
> This weekend will be full of exciting, challenging discussions. Let’s work together to make sure that they remain safe, respectful environments.
